Why we love CurioUsa and a little bit about their story…

I first came across Curiousa lighting at a London trade show in 2013.

The coloured glass in an array of stunning tones with such delicate detailing shone out like beautiful jewels - they just blew me away!

I love Esther’s ethos of producing quality British lighting. Each individual  piece is free-blown and shaped by hand, ensuring the authenticity of all the products.  Every light is unique, one on it’s own, and ever so slightly different to it’s neighbour.

Based in the heart of Derbyshire, Curiousa only use UK based suppliers. Their packaging is compostable or recyclable and the repair service they offer is amazing. But above all I am always amazed by how inspiring Esther’s designs are. They continue to push boundaries, mixing glass textiles and bone china together, always offering a bespoke option and allowing me to create something incredibly special for my clients.  Curiousa lights truly bring warmth and joy into your home.

What inspired us to collaborate with CurioUsa?

One reason why I so enjoy working with the Curiousa team is that they are super helpful – no question is ever too silly.  They are so knowledgeable and will also provide drawings for larger projects.  Thanks to Charlie in the studio who is always so patient and supportive.

Since our first collaboration, I have continued to work with Curiousa over the years.  Our latest project is in production right now and I cannot wait to share it with you.

I was so excited when I first got to work with Curiousa in 2017.  It was for my first new build project and my client had a love of colour and a desire to avoid a clinical, show home aesthetic.  We went to Decorex  an interior trade show to introduce my client to the lovely Curiousa team and to show her the lights in person, as I knew that she would fall in love with them. We were literally like kids in a candy shop selecting all the beautiful colours to best complement the artwork we had for the space!

Our 3 favourite Curiousa products

I am hoping to use Curiousa’s bathroom lighting soon as I think coloured glass in a bathroom would really make an impact. I am so excited to be using the pop wall light in our new reception project – the mix of wood and glass is so effective.

The new wave chandelier is truly a work of art.  I am waiting for the perfect project to commission this piece for as it is absolutely stunning and so unique.

This is such a tough one as I adore so many of Curiousa’s lights. I love how you can truly customise your choice – combining the many tones of coloured glass, using different sizes and spaces to create a unique, bespoke piece. The options are endless!

The drop cluster is the perfect piece to use on a staircase as it works so well, creating layers and adding drama. I usually try to mix a warm or cool colour pallet together.
