Learning Enrichment Centre
Kings College Wimbledon
This project involved the redesign of the Learning Enrichment Department at King’s College Wimbledon, we created a calm, inclusive environment that supports wellbeing, connection and focused learning for the neurodiverse pupils that use the space on a daily basis.
The design is built around a neutral base, layered with soft blues and greens to promote a sense of calm. Texture plays a key role throughout the space, with the introduction of wood and natural materials adding warmth and tactility.
Furniture was carefully selected for its softer forms and gentle silhouettes, creating a welcoming environment, particularly important for their neurodiverse pupils who may be more sensitive to their surroundings. Thoughtfully considered lighting and abundant real planting reinforce a biophilic approach, fostering a sense of ease, comfort and balance.
Working closely with the Learning Enrichment team, the design was carefully shaped to support the needs of their students, creating an environment that helps build self-esteem, confidence and self-awareness, and empowers pupils to feel supported, understood and ready to learn.
“Nikki has always been hugely creative in her suggestions which are unique and make us think, while retaining key aspects of our branding and identity throughout our shops. We would wholeheartedly recommend Nikki to anyone who needs that creative guidance and input.”
