Sixth Form Reception and Courtyard Renovation, South West London

Kingston Grammar School

The refurbishment of the Kingston Grammar sixth form interior and courtyard was an exciting and collaborative project to work on. The design we implemented is welcoming as well as inspiring, allowing students to thrive in a space they can call their own. The new layout accommodates individual working styles, giving the students the freedom to choose how and where to study and socialise. With carefully considered space planning inside and out, an agile working environment was created, keeping students’ wellbeing at the very heart of our design.

The outside courtyard was reimagined in collaboration with Shelley Hugh Jones. Using layers of greenery and vivid furniture to elevate the space, we created a Parisian style courtyard which is now perfect for evening events, as well as for the students’ daily use. We also commissioned Anna Proctor to design a vibrant art installation expressing the school’s brand colours in an innovative and exciting way. It has been so wonderful to see the positive effects that the new design has had on the students.
