Why We Keep Coming Back TO POOKY

Over the years, we have returned to Pooky time and time again for our clients’ projects, and for very good reason. Their lighting strikes that perfect balance between character and quality, offering designs that feel considered, timeless and full of personality.

Lighting plays such an important role in how a space feels, and Pooky allows us to layer light beautifully throughout a home with a pick-a-mix of shades and bases. We love that their collections sit so comfortably alongside more high-end pieces, elevating a scheme without ever feeling overstated. Whether we’re working on a refined residential project or a commercial space, their designs are versatile enough to adapt seamlessly.

Throughout the hallways at our New Build Wimbledon Village Project we used Pooky Antique Brass single or double tremmer wall lights, to add warmth and a welcoming glow, creating an inviting first impression while still feeling elegant and understated. In living rooms, we often use Pooky lighting to complement statement furniture and architectural features adding depth and softness without competing for attention. Their table lamps work beautifully styled on console tables, bringing balance and a sense of calm to transitional spaces.

We also regularly specify Pooky lighting in bedrooms, particularly for bedside tables, where both aesthetics and functionality are key. Their lamps provide a lovely ambient light while remaining practical for everyday living a detail our clients really appreciate.

What inspires us to collaborate with Pooky

As an interior designer, it’s important to work with brands that understand how their products will be used in real homes and real lives. Pooky’s designs feel thoughtful and adaptable, and their range allows us to be creative while ensuring longevity in our schemes. Being able to use the same brand confidently across both residential and commercial projects is invaluable, and it’s one of the reasons we continue to return to them.

Above all, with Pooky nothing is too much trouble and the whole team are a joy to work with and their range of lighting enhances the overall story of a space rather than dominating it and that, for us, is always the mark of good design.

These images show just a few of the many ways we’ve incorporated Pooky lighting across our projects, from California inspired bedrooms and considered living spaces to bedrooms, hospitality settings and workspaces. With such a wealth of imagery, it’s hard to choose just a few.

Our 3 favourite products IN ACTION

While we love the entire collection, there are a few standout pieces that have become "signatures" in our projects. Here is how we’ve used our top three favorites to bring these spaces to life:

1. The Sphynx in White Marble & Brass

In our residential projects, we often look for bedside lighting that feels sculptural but calm. The Sphynx table lamp is a favourite for guest rooms. Its inverted tapered marble column and polished brass details offer a clean, Art Deco sophistication that doesn't compete with the room's textures. It provides a soft, luxurious glow that is essential for making guests feel instantly at home.

2. Ikat SHADE IN GREY YODA

Lighting is as much about the texture of the shade as it is the glow of the bulb. For this cozy corner at the Charterhouse boarding house, we paired a classic Skellig floor base with the ikat shade in grey . The ikat pattern adds a layer of "lived-in" charm against the historic oak paneling, proving that Pooky pieces can bridge the gap between centuries-old character and contemporary styling.

3. EMPIRe SHADE IN RUBY CANDY STRIPE

In the reception at Edgeborough School, we used a pair of matching Pooky table lamps to frame the window and ground the seating area. We topped vibrant blue ceramic bases with the Empire shade in Ruby Candy Stripe.

We find ourselves returning to these candy stripe shades time and again because a stripe truly works in any setting and a small, intentional pop of red can instantly anchor a color palette. Here, the red stripes provide a brilliant counterpoint to the teal sofas and green armchairs, adding a touch of traditional English whimsy to this grand, light-filled space.
