Kingston Grammar School Sixth Form

We are so proud of the new Kingston Grammar sixth form interior and the garden design of the courtyard the design is welcoming and inspiring to allow students to thrive in a space they can call their own. With wellbeing at the heart of the design the new layout accommodates personal working styles it gives students freedom to choose how and where to work and socialize through considered space planning inside and out, creating an agile working environment.

We collaborated with Shelley Hugh Jones to redesign the courtyard.  The outside was elevated with layers of greenery, wooden planters, trees and colourful Fermob indoor/outdoor furniture to create a Parisian style courtyard that the students can work in as well as the space being used for evening events by the school.

The Ground Floor Gallery was redesigned by enhancing the layout and injecting colour and texture into the space. Bespoke benches were designed to work with the art installations in the gallery allowing students to grab a coffee while watching the world go by.

A wooden wall treatment and lighting was installed to soften the space making it feel like a café space instead of a corridor. An old box office was removed, and a seating booth was injected into the space creating a study nook for students. We commissioned Anna Proctor to design a vibrant art installation that used the school brand colours in an exciting way. It’s been wonderful to see the positive affects the new design has had on the students and we can’t wait to complete the first floor.
